How does one begin to navigate sudden loss? International best-selling author Wayne Dyer passed away suddenly in August 2015 and today Lisa interviews his youngest daughters Serena Dyer Pisoni and Saje Dyer. Growing up with the “Father of Motivation,” as he is so compassionately known, forced Serena and Saje to draw upon deep wells of inner wisdom and consider his life-long teachings at a very personal level. Find out how we can all access the deepest wisdom of our soul, through the good times and the seemingly rough seas, to find our rightful place — essentially how to "become a host to miracles instead of a hostage to circumstances," as they write in their new book, “The Knowing.”  Together they all share stories and memories about Wayne, his profound wisdom, and even the signs they believe he is sending from the Other Side. Clinical neuropsychologist and founder of Biocognitive science, Dr. Mario Martinez, lectures worldwide on how cultural beliefs affect health and longevity more than genetics. His research demonstrates how thoughts and their biological expression coemerge within a cultural history, even as current science continues to divide mind and body, and ignore the influence cultural contexts have on the process of health, illness, and aging. Cultures that view growing older as positive are associated with increased wisdom and have higher numbers of centenarians living healthier lives than cultures that view aging as a process of inevitable deterioration. He also teaches how joy requires sufficient self-esteem to accept it without self-sabotage. He is the author of "The MindBody Code." Learn more about his field of “biocognition” in today’s interview. Today’s guest is educator and poet Meredith Heller. Meredith has a unique story of leaving home at the age of 13 because she was so disenchanted with society and the schooling system. She built homes in the woods along the Potomac River and spent time with other artists, musicians, and outcasts who all felt like they didn’t fit into society’s expected norms. Always creative, she began writing poetry even at her lowest points. She considers it a gift and went on to graduate school including attending Naropa University. She is the author of several books of poetry and continues to teach workshops nationally for teens and adults. Info: meredithheller.com

August marks the 59th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe’s death. Here we are, this many decades later, and the star is still considered one of the most popular icons in all of Hollywood history. Today’s guest Nina Boski deeply explores the circumstances around the mystery of Marilyn’s passing. By utilizing medical reports, and speaking with physicians and other experts, she’s pieced together a fathomable understanding that addresses Marilyn’s mental illness including anxiety and possibly bi-polar disorder. She also explains how Marilyn, a complex and deeply fragmented person, constantly under pressure, became a prisoner to the image of her character. Nina explores further in her podcast, “Behind the Icon.” Info: behindtheicon.com

Do what you love, and the money will follow, so goes the familiar expression. But how can the two seemingly diverse worlds of mystical consciousness combine with the bottom-line concerns of business? Is it even possible?  Yes, it is! A business CAN be financially successful and also operate with a sense of mindfulness. Today’s guests Tami Simon, founder of Sounds True, and Sibyl Chavis, Harvard-educated attorney, have teamed up to develop a course called “The Inner MBA,” a nine-month immersion program to train leaders, entrepreneurs, managers, and employees on how to powerfully grow themselves and their companies. They talk about the importance of a leader asking the right questions and deeply listening for the answers. Sounds True is one of the most successful multimedia publishers, with more than 6,000 titles offering spiritual wisdom. This program is open to the public and begins in Sept.
