IIs it possible that the movement of the planets can predict what lies ahead? How influenced are we by the moon and its phases? Have you heard about the 8/8 Lion's Gate, happening on August 8th? According to world-renowned astrologer Susan Miller, the celestial bodies can affect many different aspects of our lives including our relationships, our health, our legal contracts, and so much more. Today Susan discusses the year ahead and how several major planets are moving into different astrological signs, signaling new ideas and broadening our horizons. Susan is the founder of the wildly successful website “Astrology Zone,” where she receives upwards of 13 million unique visitors per month. Her mother was a gifted astrologer and due to numerous health challenges as she was growing up, including being bedridden for months at a time, Susan had the opportunity to intently study astrology and the science behind it. She talks about the particular planetary alignment at the beginning of the pandemic and how it foretold great changes ahead. Major planets were in Earth signs during the Industrial Revolution and now these planets are moving into Air signs, which means we could see vast technological advances happening very quickly. Susan also goes through each astrological sign, step-by-step, and reveals what lies ahead for each one. She also discusses the meaning of “retrogrades” and how these are times of reflection and not ideal for signing contracts or making major decisions, if at all possible. Susan continues her work as an author, international columnist, entrepreneur, and publisher. She is the author of 12 astrology books, as well as the popular “The Year Ahead” astrology calendars. She has apps in which to read your daily horoscope as well as very extensive monthly horoscopes. Info: AstrologyZone.com

How important is faith when it comes to healing? We know science can only explain so much. These concepts can exist together. Lisa continues the interview today with our guest, Dr. Gary Simonds, a retired neurosurgeon who’s treated tens of thousands of patients. Today he talks about burnout in the healthcare system, especially during and after Covid. He explains how we are all constantly depositing or withdrawing energy from our energy bank. When are not replenishing, we can get burnt out. We may feel like we are not contributing. Dr. Simonds has worked with world experts researching physician burnout and our healthcare system. He suggests how stillness and meditation are very beneficial to everyone. Dr. Simonds also describes what the brain actually looks like, its blood supply, and its need for constant oxygen. He talks about how social isolation impairs brain function. It is so important to seek out community. He further discusses the importance of sleep and rest for a healthy brain, and how mindfulness can provide a sense of balance as it can change the brain alignment.

He stresses the importance of keeping a positive attitude and focusing on resilience. Dr. Simonds suggests practicing gratitude and asks us to think of 3 things we are grateful for throughout the day. He explains how our brains actually have a different chemical reaction when looking for the positive. He suggests considering uplifting material or realizing something as simple as a smile. Sometimes we need to force ourselves to look for the positive. As a neurosurgeon, doctors typically look for the worst-case scenario, so they can plan in advance if something goes wrong. He talks about consciously directing thoughts toward possibilities and solutions. Dr. Simonds, as an expert neurosurgeon, also discusses how to deliver difficult news, while managing expectations.  He’s had to do it so many times, with many patients and families. He explains how it’s all about trust -- a delicate walk between honesty and compassion with empathy.  An expert on burnout and trauma, Dr. Simonds is the Founding Chief of Neurosurgery at the Carilion Clinic, Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine (retired) and the author of three non-fiction books. “Death’s Pale Flag” is his first novel and his latest book. Science can only explain so much. Faith also plays a very important role. They are not opposed and can exist together as both strive to find the truth. It’s just a matter of looking at the topic from different angles, according to our guest today, Dr. Gary Simonds, a retired neurosurgeon who’s treated tens of thousands of patients. The American healthcare system is dealing with more mental health issues than ever before. What is the root of the uprising in anxiety and mood disorders? Why are more young people, children and teenagers, receiving this diagnosis and what can we do as a society to help understand? Today’s guest, Susan Swick, MD, MPH is the Executive Director of Ohana, the integrated program for child and adolescent mental and behavioral health and healing at Montage Health, and the Vice President and Chief Mental Health Officer at Montage Health. She began her career at Rikers Island, studying the mental health needs of the incarcerated, which led her to studying younger patients, specifically the field of child psychiatry and how these children can be helped at an earlier age. How much is environmental and how much is the neurology of the brain? There is a rise in mental health issues in children. Childhood, from a brain perspective, ends closer to age 25. Skills like socialization, communication, and bonding are still forming until approximately this age. We develop skills prior to this age which can affect our mental health for the rest of our lives. But, there’s good news and treatment is available! It can be corrected using a type of supportive mental health technique using skill-building so children learn to manage anxiety – it’s like a type of mental health “tutoring” so they can manage something new and challenging, even if frightening. It is possible to build skills toward stronger health and mental fitness.

Dr. Swick also talks about social media and how children become addicted to being online with a dopamine hit, especially in teenagers. Many compare themselves to others and eating disorders may start here. The reward part of the brain also does not mature until approximately age 26.

Over a distinguished 20-year career as a clinical psychiatrist and educator, Dr. Swick has helped transform how American healthcare systems meet the escalating demand for pediatric and adolescent mental and behavioral healthcare treatment and services. A graduate of Columbia University Medical School, she previously served as Chief of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Newton Wellesley Hospital and as an instructor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital.

In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr. Swick is an advocate for the importance of mental fitness and has developed nationally recognized neuroscience strategies to help young people build and maintain a state of emotional health and positive self-awareness throughout their lives. Info:

Do frustration, stress, and worry consume your thoughts? Do you want to become emotionally free? Psychiatrist and bestselling author Dr. Judith Orloff shares her inspiring wisdom and invites us to liberate ourselves by mastering our emotions. In her NYT best-selling book, “Emotional Freedom,” she talks about not just getting rid of fear but learning the skill of courage. That way we can learn to move forward, with patience and compassion. We must acknowledge the negative feelings but keep on moving. She also talks about jealousy and envy and how to transform these emotions. These emotions stem from low self-esteem, but it is possible to work through it. She talks about not being attached to the outcome, but always trying to follow your heart and do your best. If we can do that, we can know we’ve succeeded.  Dr. Orloff addresses loneliness and how it is increasing dramatically, as it’s caused by separation from self, others, and spirit.  But this can be healed through a sense of connection, and she talks about how meditation can help, as well as going out into nature. She further discusses anger, frustration, and sadness and how we can stay in the now, and work through each of those emotions to grow.

Judith Orloff, M.D. is an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at UCLA. She is an international lecturer on the interrelationship of intuition, energy, and medicine and has spoken at medical schools, hospitals, and various forums. When you consider religion and various beliefs, how can we know anything is the truth? What is belief anyway and how can we know that something is true? Might it be irrational to believe in a God or Higher Power? Lisa continues the conversation today with NYT bestselling author Eldon Taylor, Ph.D., who examines these ideas and more. He talks about how there are good people everywhere, who cross all barriers – whether they reject organized religion and spirituality or not.

Eldon talks about how what you believe can, and does, have a huge impact on the quality of your life — from success in business to success in relationships, from your ability to learn and master new subjects to your ability to heal your own body. In his latest book, “Questioning Spirituality,” he deeply considers the idea of a God and/or Higher Power and how it seems our institutions of higher learning tend to go against this idea. An intellectual elitism exists in which students, and professors, may think that although it’s comforting to consider believing in a God, it’s simply not rational.

The idea for his latest book started after numerous conversations with Eldon’s college-aged sons, both of whom were studying away at Ivy League schools. Although they grew up with a strong sense of faith, they returned home from university as atheists.

Students are taught critical thinking in college. This naturally leads to the questioning of religion. Is it possible to be both a critical thinker and hold belief in a Higher Power? Eldon presents both sides of the argument – and proposes that it’s not at all irrational to believe.

Eldon Taylor has been researching the power of the mind for the past 25 years and is considered to be an expert in the areas of hypnosis and subliminal communication. For more than ten years, Eldon specialized in criminalistics, where he supervised and conducted investigations and testing to detect deception. Today, Eldon is President and Director of Progressive Awareness Research, Inc. He has developed and patented the InnerTalk technology, which has been demonstrated by numerous universities to be effective. Eldon is an award-winning, NYT best-selling author of more than 300 books, and audio and video programs.  Info: eldontaylor.com.  This is Part 2 of the interview.

If your brain controls everything in your body and mind, does it also somehow affect your relationship with God? Can brain function affect spirituality? Today’s guest, Dr. Daniel Amen, is a physician, child and adult psychiatrist, brain imaging specialist, bestselling author, and the CEO and medical director of Amen Clinics. Dr. Amen takes a holistic, practical approach in linking a dynamic feedback loop that exists between the brain and the events in our lives. Today he discusses the neurological connection we have to our souls as well as offers tips for a healthier brain, no matter what our age.

Dr. Daniel Amen has studied the brains of loving people, as well as evil people. His research has shown that racism and hatred often involve problems in the brain. People like this may hold grudges as they can’t let things go. They cannot change their opinion because of brain function.  Dr. Amen has compared the brains of inmates, including murderers, and tests have shown clear deficits in the activity in their brains. If they are medicated, they may become calmer and more understanding.

He further discusses the importance of examining our thoughts. He suggests writing out what you are thinking. Must you believe every thought you have? Try talking back to depressive thoughts and try to think in a more positive direction. This will start to balance the brain function. You can apply these methods to begin to gain a sense of relief.

He also discusses the importance of physical exercise, as well as learning something new. This is so imperative, especially as we age. It increases blood flow to the brain and can be used to help prevent memory loss. Dr. Amen also discusses supplements, including Ginkgo Biloba, St John’s Wort, and Vitamin E. If you would like to try supplementation, always be sure to consult with your healthcare practitioner first.

Dr. Amen has also studied how prayer and meditation improve brain function. He suggests teaching children this as a method of focus, rather than playing video games which has the opposite effect.

Lisa continues her conversation today with best-selling author and spiritual teacher Byron Katie. She talks about questioning our minds as a way to learn our own truth. We are now halfway through 2023….. And it’s a “World Year” of the Number 7, but what does that mean? Would you like to learn more about the ancient art of Numerology? Well, it’s all based on mathematics and vibrations, says today’s guest, Master Numerologist and author Glynis McCants, who has been studying Numerology for several decades. Her unique method is based on the Pythagoras Number system, which is more than 2,500 years old.  Glynis talks about how to add up 2023 to the Number 7 and how 7 is a very spiritual number. It means we must surrender and get back to our humanity. Things are not always political. This year is about a test of faith. It asks us to be more spiritually minded.

Number 7 also predicts Earth changes and extreme weather, with flooding, rains, and extreme temperatures. This year also asks us to look at the path we are on and ask ourselves what is not working. 2023 is a year we can work on ourselves so we can change toward the positive.

Glynis also discusses the Mercury Retrogrades for the remainder of the year, as Mercury rules communication. Everything in the universe is based on vibrations. Numbers are vibrations, as well as communication.

She then talks about how each letter in your name correlates with a number. By analyzing these numbers, we can determine more about our personality and those around us. Glynis talks about the power of your name. It’s sacred.

She reflects upon the year 2020 and how it forced us to look at things more clearly. 2021 was based on new ways to communicate (with Zoom being an example). It was a period of growth and learning.

Next year is the Number 8. It will be all about money – whether positive or negative. We must go back to love and compassion, as a humanity.

Number 7 is the observer. She suggests reading positive affirmations as a way of healing. We always have the power to change our thoughts and then we can fix the problems we see. This year also promotes travel and gatherings. It is a year to be deep in the appreciation of nature and beauty. Take time to visit the mountains, the rivers, the oceans and be out in nature.

After evaluating approximately 15,000 Numerology Charts, she wrote the book “Glynis Has Your Number,” which quickly became the best-selling Numerology book in the country and has been translated into fifteen other languages as well. She has worked with thousands of clients, and her book has sold millions of copies worldwide, as she is incredibly accurate.

What does it mean to be “ageless”? Do you want to feel better and more vibrant? Would you like to slow the aging process? Lisa continues her conversation today with meditation teacher and founder of “Yes to Success” Debra Poneman. Debra says it IS possible to feel healthy and vibrant, no matter what your age. It’s a matter of looking in the mirror and feeling happy. Aging gracefully is about loving yourself at any age and not judging others. Some people choose to dye their hair, have “work done,” etc, while others prefer the natural look. Debra asks us not to judge either way. The key is to be happy with ourselves.

She discusses the importance of exercise at any age, and shares studies which have shown high intensity training and endurance training to offer optimal benefit, as well as stretching and yoga. She also talks about the many things people can do to have more restorative sleep. Anti-aging hormone is the human growth hormone, which can increase depending on our sleep habits. Sleep affects our mood, our immunity, even skin elasticity.

She also talks about Blue light from our screens leading to macular degeneration and how computer screens are especially dangerous to youth. For health benefits, she recommends turning off your computer at least an hour before sleep and also adding a Blue light blocking screen.

She talks about more ways to slow and reverse the aging of the brain and discusses her upcoming “Ageless” course with her co-host Ronnie Newman, who conducts brain research at Harvard. Nutrition, friendship, and sleep all play very important roles in the healthy aging process, but the longest-living people in the world have one aspect in common – it’s community! Whether in-person or online, community and social connection are extremely important keys to longevity. If you are connecting with happy people, you will walk away feeling happier.

Debra discusses optimal brain health and function including eating better and getting stress in check. Meditation is a key way to calm stress. By adopting lifestyle choices like regular meditation and yoga, we can regrow brain cells and stave off memory loss. Breathing exercises also help with stress control. She demonstrates an easy, calming breathing technique known as “straw breath.” This is Part 2 of the interview. Info about Debra Poneman’s upcoming online program: www.TheAwareShow.com/Ageless.

Do you sometimes feel overworked? Do you feel the need to prove yourself? Do you or someone you know feel like you are not worthy, or not enough? Our guest today, author and executive coach Victoria Castle, believes that in order to successfully upgrade from these feelings of scarcity and struggle to feeling abundance and ease we must interrupt and dislodge old patterns that have been living within us. So many of us feel we are not valuable unless we are productive. We are constantly overworking and trying to prove ourselves. Victoria calls this the “Trance of Scarcity” and she discusses ways to break free from this illusion during today’s interview. She invites us to stop overworking and begin to spend more time reflecting, being out in nature, in meditation, and journaling. She asks us to take more pleasure in simple little things, such as the feel of your mug of tea, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, or savoring the taste of your favorite beverage. These easy steps of mindfulness, and being present in the moment, can lead to the enjoyment of small pleasures.

She further explains somatic healing and offers exercises for expansion. She asks us to breathe and feel relaxed and notice how we shape our lives. This can help change our story to one of ease and expansion, which leads to abundance. In the “I’m not enough” conversation, we operate inside of scarcity. We feel unwanted, and that others are in charge. We must attend to our inner state and consider whether we are closing off our energy and aliveness. She explains how to remain grounded and be in our bodies. If we notice that we are tight and contracted, or in a state of unworthiness, she offers ways to change our awareness. She lets us know that there are other ways of being and explains how we can change our state. We can be open, relaxed, available, and able to move with ease in the world.

We can learn to not struggle and live a life of joy, pleasure, and ease! If we look at babies and animals in nature, we can witness how they live in pleasure. We can enjoy the small things and become more present to the richness of each moment.

She invites us to listen deeply to the story that we keep running. If you think there’s not enough, or it won’t work so why bother, you may be in a story of unworthiness. So why keep telling the same story? She asks us to peel off the layers and embody a new way of being.

Victoria Castle, MSC, is the owner of Castle Enterprising, and has been working with her leadership clients for more than 20 years. She is the author of “The Trance of Scarcity: Stop Holding Your Breath and Start Living Your Life” which addresses our cultural pre-disposition to “not enough-ness” and offers the practices for embodying abundance and ease as a way of being. With a background of working with corporate leadership and social entrepreneurs, training as a Master Somatic Coach, practicing spontaneity with her improv troupe, and having a keen radar for when things get too serious to be productive, Victoria speaks and teaches internationally.

Why is the world in a constant state of war? Why historically is there so much conflict? Millions upon millions of people have died and our planet is being destroyed. But it does NOT have to be this way. This is something that we, as humanity, can stop. Acknowledged as one of the world’s greatest leaders in the field of mind-body medicine, our guest today, Dr. Deepak Chopra, discusses how we can change the state of the world through utilizing the peace process as he describes in his book, “Peace is the Way.”

Dr Chopra discusses our collective consciousness and our turbulent nature. If we can acquire a more peaceful mindset, within ourselves and toward others, we can begin to change divisiveness, and come up with creative solutions to take the next leap in consciousness. He believes humans can outgrow conflicts and war. It is time to move humanity forward, together. He further discusses the myth that money can buy happiness and how we operate under a false sense of security. So how do we get from the place of fear and conflict to the place of love? The bridge is Awareness. With a critical mass of people putting their attention toward peaceful, creative solutions, we CAN change our trajectory. Dr Chopra further discusses Cultural Creatives and how we can all establish a sense of peace.  We can join together to create “Peace Cells,” people working together toward a common goal and intention of peace consciousness.

Dr Chopra reminds us of the famous words of the great Mahatma Gandhi – “Be the Change You Wish to See in the World!” We truly can dream a new reality, through metamorphosis. We can go inward, through meditation. Like caterpillars, humanity can also transform through connectivity, peace, and consciousness. It is possible for humanity to take a quantum leap!

Today Lisa continues her conversation with mega-bestselling author Dr Wayne Dyer about the power of intention, and how we can learn to create a life we love.

Wayne, a dear friend of The Aware Show, joins us again to share his stories that create healing for all of us. He is one of the most popular best-selling authors and lecturers on spiritually motivational topics, and he will discuss how to look at life’s challenges and see the spiritual blessings and answers. Wayne talks about questioning your spirituality, especially when negative circumstances occur. If you feel you have experienced a series of misfortunes, he suggests stopping and reminding yourself that this is a universe of abundance. Ask “what am I doing to attract this?” then aim to bring in a Higher Energy. Stop yourself and put things into perspective. Believe that things will improve.

Wayne reminds us that we become what we think about. He advises us to put a picture on the refrigerator of how you would like to be. Use the “Power of Intention” and stay connected to Source Energy. Know that you are stronger than any addiction. Go to God for assistance. He also reminds us that for every act of evil, there are millions of acts of kindness, all over the world. There are just a few isolated people who are trying to convince us otherwise.

Wayne is an internationally renowned author and speaker in the field of self-development and is affectionately called the “father of motivation” by his fans. He’s the author of more than 35 books, has created audio programs and videos, and has appeared on thousands of television and radio shows. At the time of this interview, his latest book was “The Power of Intention.” His books “Manifest Your Destiny,” “Wisdom of the Ages,” “There’s a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem,” and the New York Times bestsellers “10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace,” “The Power of Intention,” “Inspiration,” “Change Your Thoughts—Change Your Life,” “Excuses Begone,” and now “Wishes Fulfilled” have all been featured as National Public Television specials. He has raised hundreds of millions of dollars for public media, in an effort to raise consciousness. This is Part 2 of the interview. Info: www.drwaynedyer.com

Did you know that different frequencies stimulate different parts of the brain?  Lisa continues the conversation today with author, visionary inventor, and Chi Gong Master David Wong. David will explain technologies that can help you bridge the gap between not feeling well and vibrant, optimal health. If we know that everything is energy, then it makes sense that the next level of medicine can incorporate cutting-edge technologies based on energy. He talks about these new wellness technologies which use vibrational frequencies. Just as martial arts uses the body’s own energy, David began to study the further connection of frequencies and vibrations.

David suffered for more than 10 years after receiving a diagnosis of ulcerative colitis. When traditional medicine did little to help, David decided to explore spirituality, including prayer and meditation, which led him to find an energy method to healing.  He used his background as an engineer to experiment with sound, frequency, energy, as well as studying the work of Dr. Royal Rife who developed the Rife Machine. He experimented with the Rife-type machines available at the time. It was through that study that he invented a handheld instrument called the Qi Coils.

He took the Rife frequencies and captured them into a device. Using light technology and sound waves, he combined the frequency with electromagnetic coils to create soothing magnetic waves, which may aid in healing. This technology helped him heal his colitis. He then began to develop hundreds of other healing frequencies. Frequencies can reinforce cells in the body to make them stronger. He used these sound frequencies and magnetic energies to invent a device in which coils were made in a specific shape, in accordance with sacred geometry. This in turn becomes magnetic energy. This shape is how energy flows according to science. It’s like a vortex, so it relates to our chakras. It is a natural shape in nature and this technology replicates it. It creates its own flow. Sound makes us feel in certain ways and connects us to vibration. It is a focused, condensed energy. This energy helps with oxygen and blood flow, flushes the lymphatic system, and you start to detoxify the body. You can begin to feel a little bit happier and less stressed. His Qi Coils are similar to wireless chargers, using an induction field. David has also studied and developed ways to even change your luck! He developed abundance and luck tones by absorbing happier frequencies. It’s a rhythm that makes people feel upbeat and elevates the person’s mood, thereby creating optimism and consciousness starts to change.

David is a martial artist and 3rd generation Bruce Lee student. By studying Bruce Lee, he learned the philosophy of mastering one thing in your life -- take something complicated and simplify it to perfect it and master it.  When you put out the energy, you attract it. This is a way of bringing the energy to you and your body matches it. Vivid dreams can happen when using this technology as the frequencies activate intuitive, creative parts of brain. This technology can guide you toward making more creative solutions The Qi Coils system makes it easy for people to use this for at-home healing. This is Part 2 of the interview.
